Christa Vi is an Australian / German Singer Songwriter, based in East London. She combines her folky, storytelling songwriting style with eclectic instrumentation, electronic elements and emotive vocals. Inspired to sing and write music by life’s hard knocks, long plane journeys, walking alone in foreign cities, London’s noise pollution, the inner pain and beauty of others, overheard snippets of conversation and a slight fear of losing that feeling. We visit the tropics today for a new all-day fest of upbeat bands and DJs. We’ll be treated to first ever live show by Young Blood, alongside a top notch bill of exciting upcoming bands in Evans The Death, My New Favourite Tribe and Babilondon. Evans the Death make frenetic and infectious punk pop which exudes the kind of unbridled charisma, intelligence, and runaway energy that promises a singularly exciting future for the band. It’s fair to say a restless urge for creativity has punctuated everything Daniel Avery has done to date. Having grown up on and been influenced by the risk taking DJ sets of Weatherall, Alkan, Smagghe, Pearson and Optimo, his own DJing style sees electro and techno thrown alongside cosmic drones, post-punk angles and mutant new wave whilst no momentum – or any floor – is lost.
